As I looked at the list of 23 things, I saw lots of things I wouldn't have normally tried. This made me try new things and discover apps I didn't know were there. My favorite things were hobbies, games and presentations. I also liked the library and reference portion. I didn't really connect with others while doing this.
I enjoyed doing this and would probably do it again if offered.
Educational and enlightening!

23 Mobile Things - Thing 7
I currently use the Pinterest app. I love this app for personal and professional reasons. I have found many things I have made for my home and garden and many things I would like to make. I also have found many things I could do or make for my library at work. There are many display and bulletin board ideas I could use at work. I like how you can have numerous boards so it is easy to find things that you have pinned. I have a board just for library ideas.

I downloaded the Instagram app. I think again, I would only use this for personal reasons. I could use it to post pictures on Facebook. For privacy reasons, I would not use this for work.
23 Mobile Things - Thing 8
I currently have the Facebook app. I think I would use this more for personal reasons than professional reasons. I use it to keep in touch with friends and family that I don't see very often. I think for privacy reasons, I would not not like to use this at work.

23 Mobile Things - Thing 6
I have Word and One Drive on my mobile device which is what I use so I didn't download a new app. Since they are similar I didn't feel the need to put more apps on my iPad. I can create and save documents with the ones I have for personal use and work.
23 Mobile Things - Thing 14
I downloaded the Vine app. It is interesting but not sure yet how or if I would use this at home or work. I don't like to post videos of myself! This is something I will have to think about to decide if it would be useful - 6 seconds is pretty long for some things but not long enough to record someone reading a story or something like that.
23 Mobile Things - Thing 21
One of my favorite hobbies is knitting and I am learning how to crochet. I found an app called knitting and it has many patterns of things to knit or crochet. Many of them are free but some you have to pay for. You could spend many hours just looking at all the things you could make!
23 Mobile Things - Thing 22
I checked out the app Apps Gone Free. I like this app because you can check it everyday and they will have apps you normally pay to get for free. Hopefully I will remember to check it often!

23 Mobile Things -Thing 16
I used Audioboo for Thing 16. I haven't figured out a way I would use this yet professionally or personally. I don't have anything currently that I would like to record and share with people.
23 Mobile Things - Thing 13
I experimented with 2 apps in this thing. I tried Deck Slideshow creations and Educreations. I enjoyed working with both of them once I figured out how to use them. The one thing I didn't like about Deck was that you got some free backgrounds but you had to pay for the rest. It was very neat how it would put your sentences into a neat presentation. Educreations was nice because you could write on your screen like a whiteboard.
23 Mobile Things - Thing 12
I checked out a couple different apps for this thing. I decided I liked Audiobooks the best. It allows you to listen to books which I like to do on my way to work. That is how I will use this app.
23Mobile Things - Thing 11
I enjoyed looking at the ELM portal. It seemed to be an easy way to search for libraries in my area. I also checked out different things on the local library and discovered things I didn't know about before. This will come in handy for myself at home and at work. It is a quick way to find books I am looking for.

23 Mobile Things - Thing 9
I tried Line Camera and Color Splurge. I liked Line Camera much better. It was easier to use and had more options. I liked the text options because this is something I can use at work. I can add the students name to their picture. The one thing I did like about Color Splurge was the option to have color on only part of the photo.

I decided to try RoadNinja for this thing. I think it would be helpful to use when traveling on interstate highways. It would be nice to know what is coming up on the exits. Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to try it out yet!

23 Mobile Things - Thing 15
I downloaded info.Graphics. I found that it was slow (not sure why) and really don't think it is something I am interested in using. A lot of random information that was time consuming to look at. I also downloaded Infographics and found that much better. A lot more information that I was interested in and much faster also.

23 Mobile Things - Thing 17
I picked Marshall Living and Minnesota 511 for Thing 17. Marshall Living is a great place to see what is going on in the community of Marshall. It is a quick way to look up what movies are playing at the Marshall 6 Theater. It also has restaurants, churches, schools and everything that you would like to know about Marshall and surrounding communities.
I also picked the Minnesota 511 app. It is a helpful app because it gives you the road conditions for the state of Minnesota. This will be useful if we are thinking of traveling.

23 Mobile Things - Thing 18
I picked 2 apps for this Thing. Google Earth and Today's Document. I like Google Earth because it is fun to pick different locations and be able to see what they look like. I zoomed in on our own house which was interesting. Today's Document has a different document from history that you can read each day. I am a history major so I find this interesting.

23 Mobile Things - Thing 20
I tried a variety of games and found some I liked and some I didn't. I thought I would like Frogger but I didn't. I remembered it from when I was younger but it didn't seem the same. I really enjoy playing Bubble Mania and Candy Crush. I also like Word Collapse and Word Warp. I like playing the word games because one of my favorite games is Words with Friends. They make you think.

23 Mobile Things - Thing 5
I picked the app Remember the milk. I think this will help both at home and work. It will eliminate all the pieces of paper laying around and will keep all my lists in one place. It will also move the things you don't complete in one day to the next day. I shouldn't forget things that way! At some point I would like to try Bamboo Paper but I need to check on getting a stylus for my iPad.

23 Mobile Things - Thing 4
I downloaded the personal magazine Zite. This is an amazing way to learn about things you are interested in. I picked the topics DIY, Humor, Books, and Home Decorating. I don't think I would want to pick too many topics because I could spend way too much time reading all the different articles! It is a great way to learn about things that interest you though. It was fun to read some of the articles about books, esp. the one about children's classics. I could use this in my job as an elementary Media Assistant.

23 Mobile Things - Thing 3
I downloaded RedLaser. My favorite thing about this is the scan. I think I would use this in my job to scan books. You can scan the barcode and click on reviews. This would be helpful to see what other people think about books I would consider for the library or storytime. It will also show you all the different online prices for that book. All of these things seem like they would be helpful in the library.
I also downloaded the app Google Search. This is an easy way to do a search on Google. I also liked the part Google Books. It is also easy to see the weather because it pops up for my area when I click on Google.
I did not research other browsers because I am happy with Safari.

23 Mobile Things - Thing 2
What I learned most was how to use the control center from the bottom of the screen and the calendar from the top of the screen. I like how easy it is to see your schedule for the day. I also like the camera and it's different features that you can use by just sliding up and down on the screen. My favorite thing is the multi-tasking where you can different things open and don't need to close them to work on something else. I did not know that you could slide anywhere on the screen to unlock it - I thought you always had to slide where it showed it on the screen.
23 Mobile Things - Thing 1
I received a new iPad for Christmas and need to learn how to use it. I am a librarian at an elementary school that uses iPads so I need to be familiar with it so I can help someone if needed. I am hoping 23 things will get me closer to my goal of learning how to use my iPad!
